Parameters

resources[].medication

object

Optional; omitted means unspecified

Reusable product definition. QuantityRatio is numerator Quantity / denominator Quantity; positive denominator is required.

resources[].medicationOrderTemplate

object

Optional; omitted means unspecified

Optional resource order template. These authored instructions do not create an executed order, administration record, infusion, or repeat schedule. Hidden details are retained when route, method, frequency, or PRN changes.

events.actions[].medicationOrder

object

Optional; omitted means unspecified

Quantity is { value: positive number, unit: string }. Units are explicit; route must belong to allowedRoutes.

events.actions[].administration

object

Optional; omitted means unspecified

Administration is a separate observable action referencing an order, not an automatic consequence of writing it.

events.actions[].administration.rate

object

Optional; omitted means unspecified

Explicit amount per time or volume per time. No implicit unit conversion or pump calculation.

Behavior and validation

  • Infusion-change and infusion-stop require an active infusion for the same order and patient. Runtime administration records preserve authored amount, route, time, and operator evidence separately from the scenario definition.
  • Validate dimensional compatibility of dose/concentration/rate. Reject incompatible or unrecognized units instead of guessing. Unit vocabulary and permitted conversions must be versioned before runtime adoption.
  • Effects and schedules explicitly describe the scenario's response. This format does not prescribe treatment doses or claim a validated pharmacologic model.
